Redwoods National Park & Eugene, OR

Gonna keep this one brief, i'm sitting in spivak's office on campus, he's over at the next desk reading a book...took about 8 hours to get from Sonoma to Redwoods National Park on Tuesday. Definitely a long drive, but with some glorious stretches of road, blasting down straightaways at 80mph with the ocean on my left and the music blasting, or slaloming through some great S-curves surrounded by old-growth redwood trees. Redwoods park was a great time, the hostel was nice, did some great hiking and also some cool scenic drives...the trees are stunning; reading about them or seeing pictures doesn't let you appreciate the true scale of these things until you're standing right next to one trying to stare upwards and see the top of it. Drove from Redwoods National Park up to Eugene, Oregon yesterday, Spivak showed me the town last night, checked out some cool bars...this morning grabbed some brunch and hit up another bar to watch the Oregon/USC game. As soon as i'm done with this blog post we're gonna get out of the math building and go walk around campus...very pretty campus! lots of greenery everywhere. His friends are throwing a Halloween party tonight, should be fun. Still no chance to upload pics, you're gonna have to wait until i get home on monday! Driving from Eugene up to Portland tomorrow. Might put up one more entry from Portland before i fly out, might not, depending on what time i get up to the city and what i end up doing while i'm up there.
